This document shows the parents of my great grandmother.  A Patrick Campbell still lives in Currane in 2006 with his wife Grace Cattigan Campbell.  Patrick, son of Tom, son of Michael (Navy) Campbell.  Navy Campbell was Bridget Campbell's brother.

              The above Google Satellite Map shows place in Corraun ( also Currane) where my Cleveland Neil ODonnell lived in 1856.  It also shows the location of the Compass bar where an Owen Gallagher now lives.  The photo shows the relative locations of Sraheens, Derreeen and Cloghmore townlands on Achill Island to Currane Achill.  These three townlands are only 1-2 miles from Curraun, across the Achill Sound body of water.  All the people in Currane, Cloghmore, Sraheens and Derreens would have been married in the same Roman Catholic Chapel called Kildavnet Chapel before the a new Catholic church was built in Belfarsad in 1859.

              The above Google Satellite Map shows place in Currane where Neil ODonnell lived in 1856 and it shows the location of Compass Bar today relative to Neil's house.  Neil's mother was a Gallagher.  Many Gallagher still live in Currane .  An Owen Gallagher owns the Compass Bar which a local watering hole and grocery store for Currane residents today.

The ODonnell-Gallagher Currane Connection

    The above chart shows how I am related to Owen Gallagher and other residents of Currane today like Grace and Patrick Campbell.  Eileen Gallagher McNamara lives just 200 yards south of my great grandparents 1861 homestead.

In 2003 I made contact with a Gene Rothgery formerly of Tyrone PA.  His ancestors were from Newport Co Mayo.  It turn out his ancestor Mary O'Donnell of Newport was also called Molly ODonnell.  She was the wife of Hugh O'Donnell, brother of my gggreat grandfather Owen O'Donnell.  Gene's story is as follows
